This guide will teach you how to park and transfer calls.

Parked Calls

On a Freshphone's system, you have the ability to "Park" a call. This gives more options when transferring a call. NOTE: This is not the same as putting a caller on hold (the pause button).

  • To park a call, press Transfer + 70 + Dial. This places your caller into the virtual parking lot (similar to a queue).

    • NOTE: 70 sends calls to the parking lot, where 71-78 are the parking spaces in which the calls are placed.

  • Once transferred, an automated response will state the caller's parking space number. Make sure you remember the parking space number! You can then hang up your phone.

  • At this point, you can dial the caller's parking space number from any extension to connect with the call.

  • Example: Receptionist Jill answers a call from customer John Smith. Jill presses Transfer + 70 + Dial to place a call into a parking space. Customer John Smith is placed into parking space 71. In the next room, coworker Bob presses 71 + Dial to talk with customer John Smith.

  • If no one picks up the parked call within 5 minutes, it will ring again.

Attended Transfer

Goal: Announce the incoming caller to the intended recipient before transferring the call.

  • When on a call, press the Transfer button on your handset.

  • Input the extension number of the recipient, and press Dial.
    • Depending on your model phone, there may be a AttTrnf context key that appears on your screen.

    • This button may be pressed to immediately specify and execute the attended transfer

  • Wait until the recipient answers, announce the call, then hang up your phone. The caller is now talking to the recipient.

  • HINT #1: If the recipient does not answer, press Cancel or Split, then press the appropriate Line Key, to return to the original caller.

  • HINT #2: You can transfer a call directly to someone's voicemail by dialing * before the extension number when dialing the transfer.
