A: Freshphone's Fax Delivery service sends a fax to your destination number via your email client. Fax Delivery will attempt to send each fax up to 3 times, and each attempt will generate an email. There are a number of reasons why a fax can fail. Some of these reasons include line busy, discontinued service to number, or suboptimal configuration on the receiving service.
It's not uncommon for a fax to fail initially due to natural limitations of the fax medium, but frequent failures and failures with no eventual fax completion should not occur.
If you receive 3 failure notifications, please check the destination number and try again. If you experience repeated failed transmissions, please feel free to contact support for further investigation of the failure. Send us the error and we will evaluate the number. If you give Freshphone an example within the last 24 hours, Freshphone can trace the routing and provide the specific reason for failure.
