This guide explains the four ways you can approach business holidays on your Freshphone system. These strategies are No Change, Normal Closed, Generic Holiday Closed, and Special Holiday Closed.
Terms:
"Recurring Holiday" - Days for which your organization is closed every year (e.g. Christmas, Memorial Day)
"Variable Holiday" - Days for which your organization is sometimes closed or the hours of closing vary from year to year (e.g. Christmas Eve)
No Change Strategy
Holidays are like any other day
Greeting played: Normal or none
Actions required from you: None
Normal Closed Strategy
Normal system closed greeting is played
Greeting played: Closed Greeting
Actions required from you:
Inform Freshphone of your Recurring Holidays once (and for any changes)
Inform Freshphone of any Variable Holidays each time before they happen.
Sample: "Thank you for calling Freshphone. You have reached us during our closed hours..."
Generic Holiday Closed Strategy
Play the same holiday greeting for each holiday of the year.
Greeting played: Generic holiday greeting
Actions required from you:
Inform Freshphone of your Recurring Holidays once (and for any changes)
Inform Freshphone of any Variable Holidays each time before they happen.
Create a generic holiday greeting to be played during closing for every holiday.
Sample: "Thank you for calling Freshphone. We are closed for the holiday..."
Special Holiday Closed Strategy
Play a special holiday greeting for each holiday that contains specifics such as the name of the holiday and days and dates of closing.
Greeting played: Special holiday greeting for each holiday
Actions required from you:
Inform Freshphone of your Recurring Holidays once (and for any changes)
Inform Freshphone of any Variable Holidays each time before they happen.
Create a special holiday greeting before each holiday.
(Optional) Request a Feature Code from Freshphone so you can update the greeting yourself
Sample: "Thank you for calling Freshphone. We are closed Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day...Have a great Memorial Day!"
